Originally from Watertown, Wisconsin, Jacob attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which he holds a B.F.A. in Drama with Honors. While at Tisch, he studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, Stonestreet Studios, and the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
In New York, Jacob has appeared in numerous productions including Our Lady of 121st Street (StageWorks), Wayward (Marilyn Monroe Theatre), Our Mutual Friend: A New Musical (The Gallery Players), and Ragtime (StageWorks), which also offered him the opportunity to perform at the Tisch Salute at Radio City Music Hall. He also starred in the hit role of Edna Turnblad in the musical Hairspray at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.
Jacob was a cast member of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Billy Elliot in its return to Chicago. In addition to performing and demonstrating his strong musical theatre abilities, Jacob often finds himself volunteering for various charities and traveling.
Currently Jacob is playing Mr. Simmons in the Tony-winning musical Memphis at the Porchlight Music Theatre
